Incl a 12in Makers tray with double monogram, a 6.75in Makers tray with triple monogram including what appears to be a center H assumedly for Havemeyer, a matching Makers creamer and sugar with the same 2 letter monogram and small tongs with a different 2 letter monogram that total aprox 43 troy ounces all marked Tiffany and sterling together with an impressive fern and flower repousse top brush also marked Tiffany sterling not included in the weighted items. Provenance and Shipping: One of 25 lots in the sale from descendants of the Havemeyer family. One branch of the Havemeyers married into the Old Westbury, Long Island branch of the Vanderbilt Whitney family, coincidentally the source of the first 100 lots of this sale. These Havemeyer related lots come from the estate of Mrs Caroline Dodd Butts Kilbourne, late of Floridas Gulf Coast, with many of the present 25 lots descending from 19th century ancestors. Havemeyers were important figures in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Shelburne Museum. William Fredrick, Frederick the Christian and Henry Osborne Havemeyer ran American Sugar Refining that became Domino Sugar, whose corporate art collection we sold in an event with two NY appraisers in 1995 from their Long Ridge Road, Stamford, CT headquarters after it became Amstar Corporation.
