Description
While easily confused as a Brady Manufacturing lantern, this model is actually from Taylor Manufacturing in the late 1800s. Rare and highly desirable, the diamond pattern vent holes and brass top are consistent across the Taylor lantern line. The Brady patent was only used on the first Taylor lanterns, and not this one, but collectors have often referred to Taylor lanterns as Bradys. These Taylor Aetna lanterns, while often having bell bottoms with the large holes, are also known, like this one, to have a solid bell bottom without holes. This one has a clip in fount with correct brass burner. Replacement plain clear globe. There are holes drilled in the brass top for venting. Porter lanterns use the identical brass top should someone wish to look for a replacement.
