It was created during a time in which French culture was heavily influenced by its colonies, especially Algeria. 'Le Fakyr' (fakir) is a reference to a Sufi Muslim who lives on alms. The unique dotted background of this poster mimics the skin of a snake.Michel Liebeaux (1881-1923), better known as Mich, was a poster artist who was active in the early twentieth century. Although his career was short, he produced a number of well-known French posters in the area of bicycles and automobiles. He was also an illustrator for the premier French auto-racing paper, L'Auto.This is an Original Vintage Poster. It is not a reproduction.
