The three pastiches in this poster appear to follow the story of the opera, which seems to involve the classic themes of love and class.Rene Pean (1875-1955) was a painter, illustrator, and a poster artist. He spent a good part of his career working for, and under, the tutelage of Jules Cheret and in the studios of Chaix Printers.
