Description
A group of four vintage photographs of Mexican ‘bandits’, three 5.5 x 3.5 in. sepia, with text in plate indicating the men photographed were under the command of ‘Lt. Natevedadalva’ and ‘…were captured the Glen [sic] Springs and Boquillas raid…’. The fourth image is an oversize cabinet card, 8 x 5 in. sepia, showing a group of cowboys surrounding a hog-tied horse. No backstamp. Good to very good condition, four pieces. The raid on Glenn Springs and Boquillas, Texas, took place on May 5-6, 1916. Four Americans were killed and the rebels took two hostage. The U.S. Army then launched a short punitive expedition into Mexico, fought with the rebels, and rescued the captives.
