Description
For a related mallard drake carving see "Perdew: An Illinois River Tradition" by Ann Tandy Lacy, page 225. Unsigned. Drake approximately 5 3/8 inches tall to tip of raised wing, hen approximately 5 1/2 inches. Wonderful untouched original condition with minor wear to bases, a couple small paint losses at ankles, and old yellowed varnish (they would probably benefit from a professional cleaning). No evidence of sin under blacklight. Provenance: an old Connecticut shoreline collection.
