Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico, Guerrero region, Mezcala culture, ca. 500 to 100 BCE; Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Maya, Classic Period, ca. 250 to 900 CE. A set of 2 hand-carved stone artifacts from ancient Mesoamerica. First is a dark-hued stone axe god figure from the Mezcala culture, and the largest is a green-hued stone celt of petaloid form with a sharpened blade edge. Size of largest (celt): 2.75" L x 1.625" W x 0.75" H (7 cm x 4.1 cm x 1.9 cm)

Provenance: ex-collection of the late Peter Arnovick, San Francisco, California, USA, acquired before 1995
