Description
China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912). Finely woven with nine five-clawed dragons against a trellis-pattern ground interspersed with lingzhi-shaped clouds, shou characters, and auspicious symbols. The central front-facing dragon coiling around a flaming pearl with the two lower dragons pursuing pearls above the terrestrial diagram and lishui stripe separated by crashing waves and clouds. The red-ground skirt decorated with blossoms and rendered in satin and forbidden stitch with a patterned green silk lining to the interior.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, little soiling, few loose threads.
