Original dust jacket [some wear and small damages: see photos]; hard boards, original orange cloth with brown lettering and decorations on front board; 8" x 10" ; 48 pages, fully illustrated, a little foxing inside covers, very good condition.
Independent Edie is trying hard to learn to write properly but impatience is getting the upper hand. She learns that patience and neatness count when it is time for her to sign for a special birthday package.
Johanna Johnston (1914-1982) was the author of children's books, including "They Led the Way: 14 American Women". She was also a writer for the long-running children's radio series "Let's Pretend", which featured retelling of stories from history and myth.
