Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built pottery female figure seated with legs tucked beneath a striped skirt. Her nude upper body shows perky breasts and biceps adorned in ringlets while earrings dangle from each ear lobe as well as her septum. Generously lidded eyes, bared teeth, and a simple cap comprise the remainder of the face and head. Size: 4.625" L x 6.25" W x 8.7" H (11.7 cm x 15.9 cm x 22.1 cm)
Provenance: private Ferndale, Michigan, USA collection; ex-private Detroit, Michigan, USA collection, acquired prior to 2004

Condition
Repaired with small chips and visible adhesive residue along some break lines. Abrasions, nicks, and light earthen deposits, with fading to pigment in scattered areas. Nice figural form.
