1777 Nine Selectmen Patriots Organize Meeting in Worcester
Manuscript Document, 1p, 7.5" x 9.25", Brookfield, Massachusetts, March 6, 1777, signed by nine town selectmen. Paper-covered wax seal at top left. Expected folds with small areas of loss. Ink show through with a bit of ink splatter. Soiling, spotting and scattered foxing. In very good condition.
This warrant, for a meeting to select a new treasurer and register for Worcester County, is signed at the conclusion by the following: John Phips, Benjamin Rice, Ephram Walker, Moses Jenning, Daniel Gilbert, William Ayers II, James Converse, Jonathan Mott and Caleb Hitchcock. At verso, Constable Thomas Wheeler has signed his acknowledgment of notice of meeting.Â
