Description
Constructed of cut, hammered and decorated sheet metal with a cast brass figure. A cut-out, riveted metal cross and an image of the sacred crocodile are riveted to the top of the circular, drum-shaped platform. There are round heart-shaped convex sheet metal attachments hanging from the rim (several are missing).
The round polished hardwood base is custom-made and the Asen sits in a hole in its center.

PROVENANCE: California collection.
CONDITION: Good tribally-used condition. Oxidation and well-developed patina overall. Three 'dangling hearts' missing (nine remaining). Damage and losses to the hollow nut, on the shaft.
