Hand-decorated initial on fol. II. 235 (out of 238) leaves (lacks the first quire including the title-page, text begins with [ai]). Contemporary full calf, boards paneled in blind (binding worn, soiled, with worm damage, spine partially perished and worn, front and rear joints cracked, first few binder’s blanks worn and creased, text with varying degrees of worm damage, wear and soiling). Provenance: some marginalia and underlining throughout. Rare edition of Seneca’s Works, including De paupertate, De moribus, De remediis fortuitorum, De clementia, De beneficiis, De ira, De mundi gubernatione, De vita beata, De consolatione, De tranquilitate animi, De constantia sapientis, De brevitate vitae, De liberalibus studiis, Naturales questiones, Epistulae morales ad Lucilium etc., as well as the fictitious letters between Seneca and Paul.
