EXTREMELY RARE RUSSIAN CIVIL WAR UKRAINIAN NATIONALIST HAT KOLPAK with BADGE, 1919
Russian Civil War Ukrainian nationalist kolpak hat from 1919. This hat was worn by the 'Black Strelszi' regiment of the Ukrainian People's Republic around 1919. It is a well-worn example of a lamb fur hat with a long kolpak featuring a brass skull and bones emblem attached, as well as a tassel at the end. The front COCARDE was made by draping an imperial Russian officers' COCARDE in Ukrainian colors of yellow and blue cloth. This item is extremely rare.

PROVENANCE: 1. Property from the estate of M.Fridman, Scottsdale, Arizona, USA, March 20, 2012; 2. Beachwood Auctions LLC, Solon, OH, USA, June 26, 2021 (the winner will receive this information); 3. HISTORY of SALES: A few years ago, old Ukrainian nationalist hats (not kolpak) were sold on Live Auctioneers for $1,000 (2 years ago), and $1,500 (2 years ago) - please refer to the screenshots for details. Today, prices have significantly increased compared to those of 5-10 years ago.
WARRANTY: The buyer has 7 days to inspect items valued at up to $5,000 and 15 days for items valued at $5,000 or more. Items can be returned to the seller for a refund; please refer to the Terms for more details.

WIKIPEDIA: The Ukrainian War of Independence, a period of sustained warlike conflict, lasted from 1917 to 1921 and resulted in the establishment and development of a Ukrainian republic, most of which was later absorbed into the Soviet Union as the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic of 1922-1991. The war consisted of a series of military conflicts between different governmental, political and military forces. Belligerents included Ukrainian nationalists, anarchists, Bolsheviks, the forces of Germany and Austria-Hungary, the White Russian Volunteer Army, and Second Polish Republic forces. They struggled for control of Ukraine after the February Revolution (March 1917) in the Russian Empire. The Allied forces of Romania and France also became involved. The struggle lasted from February 1917 to November 1921 and resulted in the division of Ukraine between the Bolshevik Ukrainian SSR, Poland, Romania, and Czechoslovakia. The conflict is frequently viewed within the framework of the Southern Front of the Russian Civil War of 1917-1922, as well as the closing stage of the Eastern Front of the First World War of 1914-1918.
