Description
Ancient Near East, Neo-Babylonian period, ca. early to mid-1st millennium BCE. A hand-carved stone cylinder seal of tall, translucent form bearing 2 interesting registers of stylized zoomorphs. The top register exhibits a pattern of long-necked ibexes with curved horns and heads looking backwards, and the lower register contains a procession of forward-facing griffins. Custom putty rollout included. Size: 0.45" Diameter x 1.6" H (1.1 cm x 4.1 cm)
