Chinese Carved Bamboo Figure of Shoulao Ca. 1900, H 10.7" Dia. 6" | This carved bamboo figure represents Shoulao, the Chinese god of longevity, a subject often depicted in traditional Chinese art to symbolize wishes for a long and prosperous life. the figure, which appears to be from circa 1900, shows Shoulao with his characteristic high, domed forehead, signifying wisdom and long life.
