Chinese Carved Bamboo Figure of Shoulao, Ca. 1900, H 10.75" Dia. 6" | This carved bamboo figure represents Shoulao, the Chinese god of longevity and prosperous life. He is portrayed in a moment of motion riding a deer, holding a pomegranate, a symbol of fertility and abundance, with a child at his side, emphasizing the theme of prosperity and the continuation of the family line. Circa 1900. Provenance: Property from a Trenton, MI private collector.
