Description
Oil on canvas. Aibar was one of the most important figures of Aragonese painting in the last third of the 17th century. This work, dedicated to the main Marian devotion in the lands of Aragon, shows his particular style, very much indebted to the formal universe of Claudio Coello. The relationship between these artists was very close because they both met in Zaragoza, with Aibar being the godfather of the baptism of Magdalena Teresa, daughter of Coello, which took place in the Basilica del Pilar on July 19, 1684. The work is presented with an important frame made of carved wood. Measurements: 152 x 116 cm.
