Description
Oil on canvas. Very little is known about this painter, a disciple of Juan de la Corte (c. 1585-1662) except for his activity in Madrid in the second third of the 17th century and his predilection for painting architectural whims. His architecture presents a clear influence of Flemish painting and the figures in his paintings, according to the testimony of Antonio Palomino, were executed by the painter Antonio Castrejon (Madrid, c. 1634-1696). Of his production, only one signed work is known that represents The Fall of Troy, dated 1674 and preserved in a private collection in Santiago de Compostela. Measurements: 104.5 x 161 cm.
