Kuizenga collection, the Netherlands, acquired in Dortmund 17th November 1989.
Miniature helmets have been found as votive offerings in sanctuaries from the 7th Century B.C. onwards. There is an Etruscan votive model of a gladiatorial helmet in the British Museum, acc. no. 1772,0303.15, and another Greek example, acc. no. 1772,0303.14.
