Description
Pre-Columbian, Central Coast of Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE. A mold-formed pottery stirrup vessel with highly burnished, black-hued surfaces. Each side of the body depicts an abstract warrior figure fighting against a formidable fish monster, and both the shoulders as well as the spout base are adorned with petite birds. Size: 5.2" L x 7" W x 10.3" H (13.2 cm x 17.8 cm x 26.2 cm)

Condition
Repair to spout with chips and adhesive residue along break lines. Abrasions and light fading to surface pigment, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to raised motifs.
