Near Pair of Painted Leather Fire Buckets, probably Concord, Massachusetts, 1794. Molded and seamed leather buckets painted black with red rims, one inscribed 'A. Haywood.' and the other 'Al. Heywood' on white banners above the date '1794' enclosed in foliate scrolls, with leather-hinged handles, (paint losses, one handle separated). Ht. to 11 in. Footnotes: Provenance Reportedly descended in the Heywood family of Concord, Massachusetts, to Edith Fay Sellors (1895-1983).
