Description
Two Tang Style Tomb Sculptures, feature roosters that probably belonged to a set of zodiac sculptures. The rooster is the 10th sign of the Zodiac. During the Tang Dynasty (618-907), zodiac sets were frequently placed in tombs along with other sculptures. The low-fired earthen ware is glazed with the "three-color" lead glaze that runs freely during firing creating a mottled design.
