Description
The first civilization to establish a recognizable artistic style of Sculpture is Persian. Only gods, royals, and officials were sculpted in various situations. Seated Statues of royal people and distinguished officials were placed in their tombs. This Sculpture is of a Persian king in battle attire. He wears a long tunic and a detailed royal headdress. Sporting a long spear and strong shield, he is prepared to defend his kingdom. This brown patina was cast using the lost wax method and is mounted on a marble base. Dimensions: Height 14 X Width 5 inches. Weight: 10 LBS.
