Description
A Russian Judaica silver kiddush cup and saucer. The surface of the silver cup and saucer is stylized to resemble bird feathers. Around the cup there are medallions depicting colorful beautiful birds. There are Hebrew inscriptions along the top edge and at the base. The saucer has a similar decor. Both items are decorated with precious stones. Hallmarked with 88 Russian silver standard and initials. Note. Kiddush means Sanctification, is a blessing recited over wine or grape juice to sanctify the Shabbat and Jewish holidays. Additionally, the word refers to a small repast held on Shabbat or festival mornings after the prayer services and before the meal.
