Description
ALEXANDER FIELD, ENGLISH GEORGIAN STERLING SILVER SMALL TRAY / SALVER, ovoid-form well with plain rim, raised on four shaped tab feet. Base impressed with "AF" maker's mark for Alexander Field and four hallmarks of a lion passant for sterling fineness, a crowned leopard's head city mark for London, a "u" date mark for 1795, and a King George III duty mark. Total weight: 4.965 ozt. Circa 1795. 7 5/8" x 5 3/8" OA rim, 1" H.

Deaccessioned from the Wilton House Museum collection, Richmond, VA.
Condition
Very good visual condition with minor wear, surface scratches, and nicks, a few dents, well with slight bending causing to wobble, at least one foot with a repair at terminal.
