Description
Lot of thirty-three signed items by Knights Cross recipients, including FRIEDRICH-CARL VON STEINKELLER, ERNST DEHNER, GUNTHER BLUMENTRITT and OTTO KOHLERMANN. Blumentritt signs a fine lot of thirty T.L.S.s and A.L.S.s, most 4to., as well as three T.L.S.s and eleven A.L.S.s written on the versos of 12mo. postcards. All of the letters are in German and untranslated but sent to researcher CHARLES B. BURDICK, providing information for his book on the High Command of the Wehrmacht. Included with this Blumentritt collection is an A.L. and two A.L.S.s penned by his wife, Mathilde. Kohlermann signs a T.L.S. ‘O. Kohlermann’ in German, 1p. large 4to., Augsburg, Sep. 18, 1960, communicating his willingness to answer any questions to a researcher. Dehner signs a war-date partly-printed D.S., 1p. 8vo., [n.p.], Jan. 30, 1942, awarding the War Merit Cross with Swords to a man under his command, with a D.R.L. document issued to the same soldier. Von Steinkeller signs an S.P., 4.5 x 5.5 in. b/w, a 1943 portrait of the general in uniform, signed twice on the verso, once adding his rank. Conditions vary, overall very good to fine.
