One terracotta Lekythos or oil flask in earthen tone glaze with black and gold paint decoration. Underside reads Collection of Walter Herz, MEP5, and museum no. 850.66. Previous appraisal dates piece to 500 BC Together with a Mycenaean terracotta stirrup jar in earthen tone paint. Written in black ink is the inscription Gaza.B.C.1500 and M.Dayan. Previous appraisal dates piece to 1500 BC.Provenance: Purchased in the 1950s from the collection of Moshe Dayan, renowned Israeli military and political figure.
