Description
Around 45 Letters in total, some are two letters per Envelope,meant to be handed off to other members of the Family. Letters are correspondence home from Charley Hicock of the 15th Reg 106th Pa Vols. Detailed in the letters are numerous engagments, especially when writting his Father which he does frequently he outlines and named men taken as Prisioners, Killed, Villages being Burned etc. Numerous Generals mentioned as well as troop movements. When writting his sister he leaves out the Blood Guts and Gore and focuses more on Camp life, Snowball Fights at Camp etc. He also details Lack of Pay and Marching till his Feet are Raw and Bloody. At the conclusion of the Letters he falls very ill and winds up in the Hospital, though he recovers and returns to his unit. Fascinating letters for any Civil War Enthusiast.
