Transactions of the Zoological Society of London. Vol. XIX. Zoological results of the Ruwenzori. London: The Society (and Longmans), 1909-10. First edition, bound from the five parts. Three-quarters red morocco, parts wrappers bound-in at rear. 12 1/2 x 9 7/8 inches (31.5 x 25 cm); [iv], 554 pp., twenty-four plates, including twenty-three chromolithographic plates, by Gronvold and others. The leather a bit worn, with a couple of scrapes and some scuffs, but a sound copy. Bookplate of Esmond and Chryssee Martin.
This expedition to "The Mountains of the Moon'" in modern-day Uganda was led by R.B. Woosnam, for whom a green snake discovered there was named (Atheris Woosnami). This was the first to explore the Ruwenzori mountain range for its fauna and flora.
