Estate / Collection: The Esmond Bradley Martin Collection

Four fine watercolors on paper of coastal scenes in Zanzibar (2), and Mozambique (2), showing British Residencies etc., apparently extracted from a sketchbook or scrapbook. Circa 1870s?; Three 6 7/8 x 10 inches, one shorter, two titled in ink in a hand of the period, two titled in pencil later. About fine; together with five natural history/hunting drawings of African fauna by another hand. Apparently for publication, in ink, ink wash and china white, one initialed "A.C." Extensively annotated and dated on the margins (dates 1913-16), of bishop cranes, a gazelle, white-headed vultures, fiscal shrikes and a group of green mambas.
