(20th Century Fox, 1978) A very rare pair of original third draft copies of the script for the Star Wars Holiday Special. This draft is dated August 25, 1978, just under (3) months before the show aired on November 18th, and (10) days after the 2nd draft script in the previous lot. The (137) page script includes yellow, blue, and pink revision pages dated slightly later, indicating changes made before the 3rd draft was compiled on August 25th. The 3rd draft has much in common with the 2nd, though elements like Lumpy's bird friend have already been removed. Neither draft includes Han Solo's character in the final scene, or intercut scenes of Darth Vader from original Star Wars footage, as seen in the finished show. The 3rd draft also includes the alternate spellings for the name of Chewbacca's father. Both measuring 8.5"x11"x1", the scripts are in very good production-used condition, with scuffs, small stains, and edge wear to pages very typical of production use and age.
