Description
8.5x11" typed letter on National Emblem Co., Inc. letterhead is dated Nov. 12, 1943 and is addressed to "Mr. Samuel" at Fawcett Distributing Corporation (see Batman transfers w/reference to Mr. Samuel, lot #1338). Letter notes enclosed samples and quote prices, including - "White Felt - Two Color Print, Arm Band, Small Button, Large Button, Pennant," going on to feature penciled names including "Hoppy, Captain Marvel Jr." and others. Upper left has 2.5x3.5" two-color silk-screened felt patch depicting "Hoppy" the Marvel Bunny w/Fawcett copyright attached w/staple as sample. We do not believe this patch ever went beyond the planning stage, making this a true Hoppy rarity. Letter has been folded as mailed and is evenly aged. Three tiny holes at left center, but letter is VF overall. Sample patch is NM. Harry Matetsky Collection & Shazam! Kidd/Spear Book Photo Example.
