Description
A Large Igbo Mask Nigeria, early to mid 20th century Hardwood blackened all over with white pigment (kaolin) in the eyes. Of large scale, with separately carved lower jaw, hinged with fiber trips, so it would clap together when the mask was moved up and down. In very good condition, minor scuffs, heavy erosion on the top and back of the head and the inside of the lower jaw. Custom metal stand.
