A Bronze Okimono (Table Ornament) of Three Turtles
Meiji (1868-1912) or Taisho (1912-1926) era, late 19th/early 20th century
Naturalistically cast, showing two smaller turtles attempting to climb on the back of the adult turtle, the smallest crawling on the adult's carapace, the details finely wrought, signed on the base of the largest turtle with chiselled characters Kosei; with a wood storage box. 3.2cm x 13.5cm (1¼in x 5¼in).
