Three 18th and 19th century hand colored maps
lot includes three (3) framed maps: 1. Carta Nuova dell' Arabia Isaak Tirion. Venice: Giovanni Battista Albrizzi, c.1740. on laid paper; later hand coloring; eighteenth century map of Arabia and the environs after the Dutch cartographer Isaak Tirion. Albrizzi was the first publisher to issue Tirion's maps. 2. A map of the South Pole, with the track of his Majesty's Sloop Resolution (with Captain Cook, 1772-75) in search of a southern continent engraved by Thomas Bowen; c. 1776. with later hand coloring, on laid paper. blank verso. 3. Asia London, 1840; printed and published by the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge; engraving, hand colored; on wove paper; blank verso.
