Description

Oil on plywood, signed lower right. Mounted on yellow-painted plywood. 23.5" high, 31" wide. Hill was Chicago truck driver who taught himself to paint. He showed his work very little during his life. A work titled "Railroad Center" by Gregoria Prestopino (1907-1984) was exhibited in 1949 at the Krannert Art Museum in Champaign, IL, on which this work may be based.
