Description
Beatrice Levy (1892 - 1974) "City Nocturne, Chicago" colored aquatint, dated 1924. A scare print from this renowned printmaker, a view looking back at the edge of the Chicago skyline from Jackson Park Beach. Levy studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and won a medal at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Fransisco in 1915. She was also President of the Chicago Society of Artists and supervisor for several Works Progress (WPA) projects. Signed and dated 1924, this is print No.6 of 20. Excellent condition, newly framed in a period oak frame with acid free mat & non-reflective museum plexiglass. Print measures 8” by 6.75”, frame is 20.25” by 16.25”.
