CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN BLUE AND WHITE NANKING CARGO BOWL, featuring blue hand-painted scene depicting a stylized landscape featuring a single figure crossing a bridge and structures to the right, having lattice border band to interior rim. Qianlong period, circa 1725. 2 5/8" HOA, 5 7/8" D rim.
Catalogue Note: This bowl was salvaged by Captain Michael Hatcher from the Geldermalsen, a Dutch East India Company ship that sank on its homeward journey in 1752.
