Description
ENGLISH GEORGE V STERLING SILVER AND TORTOISE SHELL JEWEL BOX, round form with hinged lid having shell top, raised on four cabriole legs, interior with brown velvet-type lining to base. Base impressed with partially worn "A[C] CO LD" maker's mark for Alexander Clark & Co. Ltd. and three hallmarks of an anchor city mark for Birmingham, a lion passant for sterling fineness, and a "y" date mark for 1923, lid impressed with two hallmarks of a lion passant and a "y" date mark. Circa 1923. 1 7/8" HOA, 3" DOA lid.

Condition
Fair to good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and nicks, several scattered dents, one leg with slight bending causing the box to wobble.
