Description
[Culmann, Leonhard.] [Sententiae Pueriles.] [Boston, 1723.] 16mo. Lacks title. 71, [1] pp. Original sheep boards. ******** SIGNED TWICE BY A YOUNG JEDEDIAH HUNTINGTON on final leaf verso. Jedediah Huntington (1743-1818) served as a General in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. Huntington would have used this book as a young boy learning Latin. Along with his signatures, a Latin inscription in his hand (initialed by him) also appears here, which partially translates "follow me to complain here / Women evil." Atop his signature at the upper part of the page, a later hand has added "Major General," and the rear pastedown also contains information about Huntington in a later hand.
