Robert Mallet-Stevens (French, 1886-1945), Pair of Model 222 Chairs
late 20th century production, black painted steel frames, triple-slat back, curved plank seat with black leather cushion, underside of seat marked RMS, Made in France.
32.5 x 18 x 17 in.
Along with Le Corbusier he is widely regarded as the most influential figure in French architecture in the period between the two World Wars. Robert was inspired by and designed in the Bauhaus style.
