This is an original oil painting on canvas by illustrator and painter, Eugene Iverd (American, 1893-1936). Iverd, born George Melvin Erickson, was an Erie, PA artist well-known in the 1920s for his paintings and illustrations. He submitted his first picture to The Saturday Evening Post in 1926 with publication of his first artwork on the March 13th cover that same year. During his career, Iverd produced 55 magazine covers and approximately 60 advertisements for clients including Campbell's Soup Company and Monarch Foods.

This painting features a little girl holding a book of fairy tales to her chest in apparent revere. She sits on a rock against a backdrop of clouds and patches of vibrant blue sky. The framed painting is signed lower right.
The frame is 34 1/2 x 26 3/4" and the sight is 30 1/2 x 22 3/4". The stretcher is 31 x 23 1/4"
