Description
A Pennsylvania Chippendale Cherry Chest of Drawers, Possibly Philadelphia, Second Half 18th Century. Of desirable proportions, the rectangular two board molded top with back molded edge over four graduated drawers, flanked by fluted quarter columns, raised on ogee bracket feet.
Dimensions: Height 33in; width 38 1/4in; depth 22 3/4in; case width 36in.
Condition
Structurally sound. Heavy marks and wear to the top. The brass hardware is later replaced and in a second set of holes to drawer fronts. Four brass bail handles are lacking. All drawers have locks. Plugged holes visible. There is a repair to one foot. Vertical shrinkage to left side of case. Typical dings, dents, scuffs and surface scratches throughout.
