Description
An American Folk Art Molded Copper Full Body Eagle Weathervane, Late 19th / Early 20th Century. Modeled with spread wings, open mouth, perched on an orb above a directional arrow, raised on a wrought iron scroll work shaft with cast directionals, raised on a wood stand and cast iron circular base. The wood stand and base are together by association.
Dimensions:Â Height of weathervane 30in; width 36in; depth 32 1/2in; Height overall 82 1/4in.

Condition
The wood stand and base are together by association and possible the wrought iron directionals. Wear commensurate with age and exposure to the outdoor elements. Heavy wear, dings, dents and small losses to the weathervane overall. The surface with remnants of an old gilded surface. Verdigris and dirt in crevices. There is an old soldered repair to the directional arrow. Bending and small losses to the cast directional letters. The wrought iron metalwork with heavy pitting. The turned wood finials to the rear of directional arrows are possibly later added.
