Early 19th Century, with a rectangular top over a drop down slant front (resting on lopers), opening to reveal seven cubbies and nine drawers (together with two faux half columns which slide out), the base with four graduated full length drawers, the whole raised on bracket feet. Inscription on right faux column runner "Miller at Canaan, June 11, 1873" and "Nov 15, 1872" and illegible text with "May 5, 1828". This desk has descended through the family since at least 1873, when it was first recorded by Arthur Hill, gristmill owner in Lebanon, NH.
