Description
A Victorian sterling silver christening mug, London 1850 by Samuel Hayne and Dudley Cater Of waisted cylindrical form with a reeded rim and moulded foot edge of C scrolls. An acanthus capped shape handle. The panelled section of the body with engraved decoration of a Chinese bridge populated with figures with parasols, as well a palm trees and pagoda’s, the side engraved with initials ANS in cursive script. Gilt interior. Fully marked to the right of handle and stamped underneath 4664. Height – 10 cm / 4 inches Weight – 149 grams / 4.79 ozt
