Description
A mid-20th century Vietnamese silver three-piece tea service, Hanoi circa 1960 Comprising a teapot, a milk jug, a twin handled sugar bowl, and a pair of sugar tongs. Each of ovoid form upon a spreading circular foot. The handles and the spout modelled as bamboo, the teapot with a pull off domed lid surmounted by an ovoid finial. Each with a chased Chinese style scene of a seascape with a boar and rocky outcrops, with trees on a cliff edge in the foreground, the obverse with a bridge over a waterway, willow and prunus trees in the foreground, against textured decoration within a shaped cartouche. The lids with similar decoration. Each marked underneath VIET-NAM 0.900 V.H. (4) Teapot length – 21.7 cm / 8.55 inches Weight – 1324 grams / 42.57 ozt
