Vietnamese Bleu de Hue Porcelain 7-Piece Tea Service for Four W/Dragon & Prunus Mume Motif (Has Neifu Mark) From a Vietnamese Royal Family - This porcelain tea service for four is elaborately decorated in vivid cobalt blue underglaze, and depicts writhing dragons among Prunus Mume (plum blossom) flowers, which represent the value of endurance and also symbolizes the five blessings: longevity, prosperity, health, virtue and good living. This tea service includes (4) tea cups, a teapot with lid, a large round tray and a small round tray. The base of each piece bears the two character "Neifu" mark, denoting that the piece was commissioned for the Inner Court. This very high quality porcelain was ordered from China for the court use. Although Chinese artisans executed the painting, Vietnamese rulers dictated the designs. Each ruler ordered ceramics of his own liking for use in his court, as well as presentation pieces to give to members of royal families and mandarin officials.
