Description
Kang Xi era, circa Chinese export Portuguese market. In the center, a large coat-of-arms of ATAIDE (Third Service) in Chinese Imari colors and gilt, supported by a pair of herms bearing smoking urns on their heads, rising from scrolling brackets and clasping drapery which hangs down from the canopy that is over all, on the rim the bull's head crest twice amid scrolling, flowering vine. 10 1/2 in. Diam. de Castro, Chinese Porcelain at the Time of the Empire, pp.114-115; Christie’s New York, Chinese Export Art (Jan. 21, 2016), lot 24, price realized $10,000.
